What is TDG?
Transportation of Dangerous Goods

What is the purpose of TDG?
Provide information on safe handling and Transportation of Dangerous Goods. Facilitates the process of Dangerous Goods identification. Ensures consistency of information in all Canadian workplaces.

Regulated under Federal legislation (adopted by provinces) TDG Act 1992 and Clear Language Regulations 2002 in accordance with Transport Canada’s Dangerous Goods Advisory “TP9554E” and included in Canada Labour Code II and OHSA Regulations.

The Federal legislation requires:
*That TDG training/retraining be done every 3 years for employees transporting or handling Dangerous Goods

OBJECTIVES
  1. Identify & Discuss TDG regulations.

  2. Identify & Discuss TDG training requirements.

  3. Explain the Classification & Hazards Associated with Dangerous Goods.

  4. Explain Meaning & Application of “Means of Containment”.

  5. Discuss the Purpose and Function of the ERAP (Emergency Response Assistance Plan).
